pdf printer start up

installed the pdf printer BUT when I start it up it tries to instal "American Tradition Signature Color Virtual printer". It crashes with error 1406 could not write value key
there are numerous other error message but I just cancel out
after this attempt is abandoned the pdf printer seems to work

any ideas
