The following error is reported when setting a background PDF:

GPL Ghostscript 8.61: Unrecoverable error, exit code 1
This sometimes happens if the background PDF cannot be converted to a EPS document. It usually happens when another type of PDF Printer was used to create the background PDF.
RESOLUTION
In all known instances the problem goes away you the Bullzip PDF Printer is used to create the background PDF.
