Landscape print rotates the background image

Hi everyone!
Maybe I'm doing something wrong:
I have a landscape A4 pdf file I want to use as a second layer. If I print a portrait file, the background gets cut (obviously) but when I print landscape, the background pdf rotates by 90 degrees, and this is not wanted (of course).
How do I fix that?
